What to Wear for a Family Photo Session – September Style Board

It's that time of year again! The leaves are changing color and there's a nip in the air. Fall is here, which means it's time to start thinking about family photos. If you're like most moms, you want to make sure your family looks their best. But with so many options, it can be tough to decide what to wear. That's why I've put together this handy style board. Just take a look and you'll be sure to find the perfect outfit for your family photo session.

Casual Attire

For a casual family photo, try jeans and a neutral colored shirt like beige or white. This look is comfortable and stylish, and it will help your family look great in photos. If you want to add a little bit of color, consider adding a scarf or jacket in a coordinating color. You can also try layering different shirts or sweaters to create a more interesting look.

Formal Attire (great for holiday mini sessions)

If you're looking for something a little more formal, consider black pants and a white shirt for the men in your family. The ladies can wear a black skirt or dress. To add some color and interest, try adding a brightly colored scarf or cardigan sweater. Or, if you prefer, you can go with all black for a classic and elegant look.

Dressy Casual Attire

Don't want to go too casual or too formal? No problem! For dressy casual attire, try khakis or dark-wash jeans with a button-down shirt. The ladies should consider wearing a dress or skirt. To add some flair, consider adding a statement necklace or earrings.

Mama's dress and babies overalls are available in the studio wardrobe!  I also have a dress very similar to the girls dress here. Even though mom's dress is shown maternity here it's actually a great dress on non-maternity moms as well.  This is actually not a maternity dress but it works for both!

No matter what type of family photo session you're planning, we hope these style ideas have inspired you. Just remember to have fun and relax – after all, the goal is to capture your family's personality in photos that you'll cherish for years to come.
