Setting Up the Perfect Backdrop

Your little one probably won't be able to stand on their own just yet, so finding the perfect backdrop for their cake smash photoshoot is key. At the studio I use my white wall and white floor to keep the focus on baby. We don't want your baby upstaged by props. I will provide simple wooden toys to keep baby occupied for heirloom portraits before we bring out the cake. Keep your cake simple and classic.

Finding Great Outfits and Props

The right outfits and props can really bring out the personality of your little one! For boys, think overalls and stripes while girls look great in any type of dress. Other classic options include knitted onesies or bodysuits. Remember I have a great selection of outfits for babies to use.

I'm personally not a fan of balloons as 1) they aren't great for the environment but 2) they get in the way. Balloons never act the way you want them to for for photos. With that said you are welcomed to bring your own balloons into the studio if you are set on having them during your session. You can also bring any other props like flowers or banners if you want to give the photos an extra special touch. Again, I prefer simple and classic so that's what I provide but I'm happy to discuss options when it comes to finding the perfect accessory for each shot. I have a white highchair we can utilize or we can use a cake stand on the floor. The option is yours.
