It's always a joy to document special milestones in the lives of families, and this session was no exception. I had the privilege of taking photos of two beautiful little boys and their adorable sister, all of whom just turned one year old! The family loves being outside together, playing and reading stories, so when they opted for an outdoor fall photo session at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, I was thrilled.

Thomas is an active explorer who loves to wave his hands around and explore new things. Ryan is a sweet and smiley boy who loves being outdoors with his siblings. Catherine holds a special place in her daddy's heart as she loves snuggling up with him whenever she can.

The morning of our photo session brought us a bit of snow, which made Mom and Dad worry that the babies wouldn't cooperate during the shoot. But they needn't have worried—the babies were amazing! We made great use of the colorful leaves on the ground, making memories together as they went along. The family was so thankful that I drove to them to do their photo session—and even more thankful when they saw how wonderful their photos came out! As an added bonus, this particular family were NICU clients of mine who I had previously visited in hospital after they welcomed their triplets into this world.

Photographing multiples can be quite challenging since it’s often difficult to get them all looking at once in the same direction! However, my experience photographing these precious triplets at Minnesota Landscape Arboretum was a success! Despite some initial worries due to unexpected snowfall, mom and dad were incredibly pleased with how wonderful their photos came out in the end—and so was I! It’s always such a joyous occasion when I am able to capture moments like these; ones that will be cherished for years to come by both parents and children alike.
