One of my favorite things to do is giving back to the community. And I wouldn't be able to do it without the support of all my wonderful clients who come to me year after year and trust me to take their family pictures. I want to make sure I am giving thanks because I can give back.
The Tiny Footprints Project grew out of it's resources. It became really hard for the administrators to run successfully so they changed how things were handled. They are now a resource were families can go and find a photographer who participates but they are no longer matching photographers and clients up together. If you know someone with a baby in the NICU go ahead and have them visit The Tiny Footprint Project website so they can find a participating photographer who is willing to donate their time to the cause. Or if you know someone right here in the Twin Cities have them visit my NICU page: https://www.mqnphotography.com/nicu
I have been photographing in the NICU's since 2015! That's 4 years going on 5 already. Time flies when you're having fun and boy do I have fun photographing in the NICU's. I have met some amazing babies! I've even been lucky enough to photograph some of these kiddos as they have grown which really makes my heart sing. This year I have photographed over 10 babies, last year it was closer to 20 but I try to fit everyone into my schedule sometimes it's harder than others. Last minute requests are really hard to make happen. I would say over the last 4 years I've given over 40 sessions. These sessions are photographed in the hospitals a lot like Fresh 48 sessions except many of the NICU babies are months old instead of hours. I visit the families and photograph approximately 30-45 minutes. I gift all the edited digital files from the session to the families so they can have the memories of their time in the NICU's. Believe it or not I remember everyone of the babies I've photographed and I think often the babies who have earned their angel wings.
I want to share some of the beautiful NICU babes I've photographed over the years.
This is just a sampling of the last couple of years. Please head over to my Giving back page where I share most of the sessions mQn Photography NICU Babies
